Absentee Ballot Request
New York State voters are no longer permitted to cast a ballot on a voting machine if they have already been issued an absentee ballot for that election, based on a change in the law. Voters who have been issued an absentee ballot can still vote in person using an affidavit ballot.

Absentee Request Deadlines
June Primary Election: Last day to apply online is June 12, 2023
November General Election: Last day to apply online is October 23, 2023

Request Absentee Ballot
To submit an online application, you must be a registered voter in New York City. If you are unsure about your registration status, you can check your registration online.

Request Accessible Ballot
If you are visually impaired or have a disability that requires you to use an accessible version of the absentee ballot that can be read by a screen reader, you may request an accessible ballot. Please note that voters who use the accessible version of the absentee ballot are responsible for printing their ballot.

Military and Overseas (Federal) Voting
Uniformed Service members, their families, and citizens residing outside the United Sates may request a Federal Post Card Application. For more information, please visit the New York State Board of Election's website.
